HONOLULU – UC San Diego hits the road for an important test Saturday night at Hawai'I – one of just two road games for the Tritons this month. It'll be a quick turnaround for UC San Diego (16-8 overall, 6-6 Big West), as the Tritons were in action Thursday night in La Jolla. UC San Diego overcame a sluggish start to top Long Beach State, 77-74 thanks to
Bol Dengdit's third double-double of the season (18 points, 12 boards) and key block with 15 seconds remaining. UC San Diego allowed the Beach just one offensive rebound all night.
Hawai'i (16-5, 8-3) stayed home with the night off Thursday, awaiting the Tritons' arrival. Just one game out of first place, the Rainbow Warriors are an impressive 13-1 at home this season.
The Tritons have won three straight against Hawai'i, including an 83-73 triumph at LionTree Arena last month – though UH leads the Division I series between the programs, 5-4. Saturday's game tips at 7 p.m. locally (9 p.m. in San Diego) and will feature live broadcasts back home on ESPN+ and 97.3 The Fan, with a link to live stats on UCSDTritons.com.
