LA JOLLA, Calif. – Due to a positive COVID test involving the CSUN men's basketball program, UC San Diego's games vs. the Matadors on Jan. 8-9 at RIMAC Arena have been canceled. Per Conference policy, these games will not be rescheduled. The Tritons first-ever game as a member of the Big West Conference will have to wait at least another week. Last week, the scheduled conference opener at Cal Poly was canceled due to a COVID-related pause with the Mustangs. 

UC San Diego (2-0 overall, 0-0 Big West) is now scheduled to begin Big West play Jan. 15 at UC Santa Barbara. 

On Wednesday, UC San Diego scheduled a non-conference game against Santa Clara (6-2) Jan. 2 at Toyota Arena in Ontario. However, before the game was announced, the Broncos program paused due to COVID-19 contact tracing protocol involving the Santa Clara program.

UC San Diego is the only Division I institution to go unbeaten in 2020, winning all 21 games they played this calendar year. Overall, the Tritons have won 24 consecutive games dating back to last December.
