Josef Polk Featured in Big West's Rapid Fire

LA JOLLA, Calif. - Josef Polk of the UC San Diego track and field team was featured in the latest episode of the Big West's Rapid Fire initiative. The series showcases a student-athlete in the "hot seat" who is asked a variety of fun and informal questions over the course of a rapid 45 seconds.

Find out more about the Triton Athletes' Council (TAC) secretary including his favorite dessert, favorite book, his love for horses and more.

The senior from Linden, Calif. has returned to UC San Diego for a fifth year to utilize his extra year of eligibility after a shortened 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2020, the team had only completed four meets before the abrupt cancelation. Polk finished fifth in the 400 hurdles (54.48) at the San Diego Collegiate Challenge (3/7).

Polk and the rest of the track and field program will compete as members of the Big West Conference for their inaugural season this spring.
