LA JOLLA, Calif. – The UC San Diego men's golf team has announced the addition of five newcomers that will join the squad as true freshmen for the 2020-21 season.
"We are very excited to have these five freshmen on the team this season," said third year head coach
Fred Hanover. "They bring energy and passion for school and golf. They all show tremendous maturity, focus, and commitment in their lives up to this point and are ready for the challenges in the classroom and on the golf course that come with being a UC San Diego scholar-athlete. I am excited to get started to work towards our goals of excellence and championships this season."

UC San Diego played in six tournaments before the remainder of its 2020 season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Tritons finished among the top 10 teams in five of those six events, which included a win at the Fujikura Invitational, hosted by Cal State San Marcos at Shadowridge in San Diego County. Hayden Hui earned GCAA/PING All-West Region and All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) First Team accolades. In addition, Hanover was tabbed the CCAA Coach of the Year.
