Women's Water Polo Travels to Riverside for a Pair of Games

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The No. 8 UC San Diego women's water polo team will continue tournament play when they take part in the California Baptist Mini Tournament on January 25.

LAST TIME OUT
The Tritons had an impressive showing at the UC Santa Barbara Winter Invite to open the season. UC San Diego went 3-1 with a triple overtime win over then No. 4 Cal to close out the weekend. Their performance over the weekend helped the Tritons jump five spots in the polls this week.
 
BIG WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Ciara Franke became the Triton's first Big West Player of the Week after her performance at the UC Santa Barbara Invite. The junior matched her career high of five goals against Cal and scored the golden goal. She finished the weekend with eight goals.
 
MILESTONE WATCH
Taylor Onstott netted her 100th career goal as she set a new career high of six goals for the Tritons. Ciara Franke is close to reaching that milestones with 90 career goals.
 
SIZING UP THE OPPONENTS
Both teams UC San Diego will face this weekend open up their season at the California Baptist Mini. Pomona is currently ranked second in the latest Division III polls. The Sagehens went 20-13 last season and finished runner up in the SCIAC tournament. The Eagles play in the GCC conference and finished last season 9-15.

The Tritons will have the weekend off before hosting the prestigious Triton Invite at Canyonview Aquatic Center from February 8-9.
