Seniors (65+), children/youth (7-17) and visiting student tickets are $5. UC San Diego students and children under 7 are free. In addition, 500 free T-shirts will be handed out to students at entry for Thursday night's game.

BIG (WEST) NEWS FOR UC SAN DIEGO ATHLETICS
On Nov. 27, UC San Diego was officially invited to become a member of the NCAA Division I Big West Conference. The Tritons will begin a four-year reclassification period starting in the fall of 2020. They will play a full Big West schedule that season and will be eligible for NCAA Championships in men's volleyball, men's and women's water polo, and fencing. For the 2024-25 academic year, all sports will be eligible to compete in Big West and NCAA Division I championships. Read the full press release here.

NOTE — Sophomore forward Lizzy Alexander scored 18 points and freshman guard Zahria Hendrix added 16 points as Cal State Stanislaus defeated Sonoma State, 79-64, in its previous game on Jan. 10. The victory snapped a three-game losing streak for the Warriors.

BACK TO BUSINESS
UC San Diego enters Thursday night's contest riding an 11-game winning streak dating back to Nov. 30. The Tritons are the only remaining undefeated team in CCAA play, and made their debut in the WBCA national poll this week at No. 24.

LAST TIME OUT
UC San Diego improved to 11-0 in the CCAA standings after earning two road victories last week. The Tritons defeated Cal State Monterey Bay, 65-56, on Jan. 11 before knocking off Cal State East Bay, 76-70, on Jan. 13.

HOT SHOTS
UC San Diego junior guard Joleen Yang ranks third in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage (51.3). Yang leads the Tritons in 3-pointers made (39) and attempted (76) this season. As a team, UC San Diego is 39th in the country in 3-point percentage (35.5). 

PRECISION PASSING
Senior guard Taylor Tanita is tied for sixth in the nation in total assists (104) and ranks ninth in the country in assists per game (6.0). UC San Diego is 29th in the country as a team in assist to turnover ratio (1.18).

OFF THE GLASS
The Tritons rank ninth in the nation in rebounding margin, dominating opponents on the glass this season 734-563 (10.1 per game). UC San Diego also ranks 21st nationally in defensive rebounds per contest (31 per game) and is 34th in total rebounds per game (43.2). Senior forward Dalayna Sampton ranks 21st in the country in total rebounds (171) and 29th in rebounds per game (10.8). In addition, sophomore forward Mikayla Williams ranks 33rd in the country in total rebounds (161) and is tied for 21st in the nation with eight double-doubles after recording two in the last three games. 

DEFENSE WINS
UC San Diego is holding opponents to 34.9 percent shooting from the field, which ranks 34th nationally. Meanwhile, the Tritons are allowing just 59.3 point per game, which ranks 44th in the nation.

SAMPTON NETS SECOND CCAA PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONOR
Senior forward Dalayna Sampton was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Player of the Week for the second time this season on Dec. 19. She had previously won it for the week of Nov. 28. Scoring a career-high 27 points, Sampton helped UC San Diego win a 60-56 road decision over Cal State LA in overtime. The Vallejo product tallied a game-high 14 rebounds to go along with two assists and a steal. The senior forward shot 57.1 percent (12-21) from the field and committed no turnovers in 38 minutes of play. On the season, Sampton is averaging 14.2 points and 10.8 rebounds per game

2016-17 HIGHLIGHTS
UC San Diego highlighted its 2016-17 season by capturing a second successive CCAA regular-season crown. The Tritons finished runner-up in the CCAA Tournament after falling to Cal State East Bay, 62-53. UCSD earned a berth in the NCAA West Regional as the fourth seed, where it suffered a 69-65 loss to Simon Fraser in the quarterfinal. Head coach Heidi VanDerveer was named the CCAA Coach of the Year while junior transfer Dalayna Sampton earned CCAA Newcomer of the Year honors. UCSD had three players named All-CCAA in Cassie MacLeod, Beth Mounier and Sampton. Joleen Yang earned honorable mention.

HEAD COACH HEIDI VANDERVEER
Heidi VanDerveer is in her sixth campaign as the head coach of the UC San Diego women's basketball team with a 116-46 overall record. VanDerveer was named 2016-17 CCAA Coach of the Year for the second-straight season, as she and her staff led the Tritons to a 23-7 overall record (17-3 CCAA) and a second-consecutive CCAA regular-season title. The Tritons qualified the NCAA Division II postseason for the 10th time since 2000-01, competing in the quarterfinals against Simon Fraser. Prior to coming to La Jolla, VanDerveer spent four seasons at Division III Occidental, where she compiled an impressive 83-26 record and led the Tigers to four straight Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SCIAC) titles. VanDerveer has also spent time as the head coach at Eastern Washington and San Francisco after beginning her coaching career under Pat Summitt at Tennessee, and spent 12 years working in the WNBA.
