LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego women's basketball has released its 2025-26 nonconference schedule, as announced by head coach
Heidi VanDerveer. The Tritons will begin the season on the road at Pacific on Nov. 3 and host Denver later that week in their home opener on Nov. 7. The 25-26 Big West slate was released in
August.
"We are very excited to play such a competitive nonconference schedule," said VanDerveer. "We play quality teams from the Big Ten, WCC, Mountain West, the Big Sky, and the WAC. Each team will present unique challenges in both style of play and talented players. We are confident that playing a tough schedule will prepare us for the nightly battles in the Big West."
UC San Diego will remain at home on Nov. 12, playing host to Sacramento State for one of five nonconference games in LionTree Arena. The Tritons will travel to San Francisco (Nov. 16) before returning to La Jolla for a pair of games against Air Force (Nov. 22) and Occidental (Nov. 24).
Over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, UC San Diego will travel to the Pacific Northwest to take on Washington (Nov. 28) and Portland State (Nov. 30).
After hosting Long Beach State on Dec. 6 for the Big West's Bold Week, the Tritons will return to nonconference play on the road at California Baptist (Dec. 15). The nonconference schedule will wrap up on Dec. 20 in LionTree Arena when UC San Diego hosts Northern Arizona.
Last year, the Tritons posted their first 20-win season of the Division I era, finishing 13-7 in Big West play and sweeping the conference tournament to earn their first Big West title. UC San Diego made history as the first program to send both its men's and women's basketball teams to the NCAA Tournament in their first season of Division I eligibility.
