LA JOLLA, Calif. - The non-conference men's soccer match between crosstown rivals UC San Diego and Point Loma, scheduled for a 7 p.m. start at Triton Soccer Stadium on Tuesday night, has been postponed. The decision was made due to a combination of poor field conditions from heavy rains earlier in the day, and more inclement weather expected in the area in the late afternoon and evening.
No make-up date for the contest has been announced, though efforts will be made to play the match later in the season. The Tritons (1-2-2) were to be wrapping up their six-game non-conference slate against the Sea Lions (1-2-1). Instead, UCSD now heads into its California Collegiate Athletic Association opener this Friday night, Sept. 18, against unbeaten Cal Poly Pomona (3-0-1). Kickoff at Triton Soccer Stadium for that one is set for 7 p.m., after the UCSD women (4-1) first take on CPP (3-1) at 4:30 p.m. Admission is free.
