AZUSA, Calif. - It was a tough day on the road for the 17th-ranked UC San Diego women's tennis team Saturday as it suffered an 8-1 loss at No. 18 Azusa Pacific.
UCSD dropped to 12-11 on the year, while APU closed out its regular season at 13-9.
The Tritons' lone victory came at No. 1 doubles. Britta Mosser and Kyra Scott, ranked 14th in the nation, cruised to an 8-2 win against Danae Ingwaldson and Natalie Johnson. It was the third straight win for the duo, which is now 13-7.
In the top singles spot, Jasmine Hosseini lost the first set, 7-5, and was down in the second before retiring.
Three of the six singles contests went three sets.
The Tritons had defeated the Cougars, 6-3, on Feb. 7 in La Jolla.
UCSD plays its final home match of the season Sunday as it hosts No. 22 Cal State L.A. (8-8) at 12 p.m.
