LA JOLLA, Calif. — UC San Diego (5-15) fell to CSUN (13-6) 5-2 on Sunday at the Matador Tennis Complex. UC San Diego secured the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 2 but managed only one singles win at the No. 5 spot.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego captured the doubles point with decisive performances at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles courts.
Olivia Allegre and
Julia Visaya secured a 6-4 victory at No. 1 doubles, while
Carling Allaye-Chan and
Hana Gamracy followed with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles. The No. 3 doubles match featuring
Allison Lian and
Kamya Nair was left unfinished at 4-3.
In singles, Visaya's match at No. 4 ended first, with a 2-6, 4-6 result. Nair then concluded her match at No. 6, falling 3-6, 4-6. At No. 3 Gamracy's match finished next, as she was defeated 4-6, 6-4, 1-6, shifting the dual score to 3-1 against the Tritons.
Allegre's match at No. 1 ended in a narrow 6-2, 5-7, 3-6 loss, which secured the overall victory for the opponent. Allaye-Chan was next at No. 2, concluding a competitive three set match with a 6-1, 5-7, 4-6 scoreline. In the final singles match, Lian earned a hard-fought win at No. 5, 2-6, 7-6(2), 10-5, closing the competition with a final dual score of 5-2 in favor of the Matadors.

UP NEXT
The Tritons are set to host a nonconference, and a Big West match this Saturday and Sunday, respectively. The match on April 18 is the Tritons' alumni game, slated to start at 10 a.m. against Northern Arizona. On April 19, the Tritons host their final regular season game against UC Irvine at 10:30 a.m. Senior recognition will precede the match.
