Tritons Clinch Nonconference Victory Against Northern Arizona

LA JOLLA, Calif. — UC San Diego (6-15) topped Northern Arizona (7-7) in a quick Saturday morning match, 4-0, at Northview Tennis Courts. UC San Diego secured the doubles point with victories at No. 1 and No. 3 and swept three singles matches at No. 3, 5, and 6 to clinch the match.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego claimed the doubles point with victories on No. 1 and No. 3 doubles courts. Alisa Lansky and Allison Lian delivered a decisive 6-1 victory at No. 3 doubles, while Olivia Allegre and Julia Visaya secured a 6-5 win at No. 1. The match at No. 2 doubles remained unfinished with Carling Allaye-Chan and Hana Gamracy leading 5-4.
 
In singles, Allison Lian extended UC San Diego's lead with a commanding 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 5 singles. Hana Gamracy followed with a straight-set victory at No. 3 singles, finishing 6-2, 6-4. Kamya Nair clinched the dual match for the Tritons with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 6 singles.
 
Allegre's match at No. 1 was left unfinished in the third after splitting the first two sets, 6-3, 4-6. The match at No. 2 with Allaye-Chan was left unfinished in the second set where she led 6-2, 5-3. Visaya's match at No. 4 was left unfinished where she trailed one set, 3-6, and led the second 6-5.

Tomorrow, April 19, the Tritons host their final regular season game against UC Irvine at 10:30 a.m. Senior recognition will precede the match, beginning at 8:30 on Northview Tennis Courts.
