LA JOLLA, Calif. — UC San Diego (5-14) fell to UC Santa Barbara (11-8) 5-2 on Friday at the Northview Tennis Courts. The Tritons secured singles victories at the No. 1 and No. 2 positions but were unable to capture the doubles point.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego dropped the doubles point after the Gauchos secured victories in both completed matches.
Hana Gamracy and
Allison Lian were defeated 6-0 at No. 2, followed by
Carling Allaye-Chan and
Varsha Jawadi falling 6-4 at No. 3. The match at No. 1 with
Olivia Allegre and
Julia Visaya was left unfinished at 5-4.

In singles play, Lian was the first to finish at No. 4, losing 6-0, 6-0, giving UC Santa Barbara a 2-0 lead. Visaya followed at No. 5, where she fell 6-1, 6-3. Allaye-Chan delivered the Tritons' first point with a 7-6(2), 6-2 victory at No. 2, bringing the score to 3-1.

Gamracy's match at No. 3 ended 6-4, 3-6, 6-0, clinching the dual for the Gauchos with a 4-1 lead. Allegre extended the match with a hard-fought 6-3, 6-7(3), 7-5 win at No. 1.
Kamya Nair concluded the day for UC San Diego at No. 6, losing a closely contested match 7-5, 3-6, 10-4.
