LA JOLLA, Calif. - UC San Diego men's tennis team was defeated, 5-4, by Azusa Pacific on Friday night at Northview Courts. With the loss, the Tritons drop to 1-1 overall.

UCSD started off strong with Mark Meyer and Kona Luu earning the first point of the match at the No. 3 doubles with an 8-5 win. The Tritons dropped the second doubles match. But with an 8-6 victory from Axel Bouillin and Rajeev Herekar at No. 1 doubles, UCSD headed into singles with a 2-1 advantage.

After UCSD dropped the first two matches at No. 1 and No. 2, Alexandre Miaule, playing in the No. 6 spot, won the first singles point for the Tritons.

Horea Porutiu then gave the Tritons a huge victory by defeating Alan Leahy, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, to put UCSD back up. Unfortunately, the Tritons drop the final two matches to give Azusa Pacific the 5-4 win.
