NINETEENTH-RANKED SOFTBALL BACK HOME FOR SIX-PACK
Coming off final exams and riding a five-game winning streak, Coach Patti Gerckens' 18-4 Softball team plays six games at home this week, starting Tuesday with a doubleheader against regional foe Hawaii Pacific (15-11 pending Sun.)…Over the weekend, the No. 19 Tritons will play a pair of twinbills (Friday/Saturday) against CCAA rival Cal State Stanislaus (10-23/6-18)…UCSD, with a 13-3 conference record, continues to hold down first place in the CCAA while Stanislaus is lodged in the cellar...Last week, Triton sophomore Katie Saunders was selected as the CCAA's Player of  the Week…For all Softball information, click here.

KEY FOUR-GAME LEAGUE SERIES LOOMS AT CAL STATE EAST BAY
Following a seven-day competitive layoff, Coach Eric Newman's Baseball team takes to the road for six games this week…The Tritons, 13-8, go to Azusa Pacific for single games Monday and Tuesday before embarking on a NorCal road trip where they will test CCAA opponent Cal State East Bay (19-10/8-8) in a four-game set that starts Friday afternoon…The No. 30 Tritons are now 13-8 overall, 10-6 in conference and fourth on the league ladder, two games behind frontrunners Chico State and Sonoma State and two up on fifth place East Bay…Click here to get up-to-the-minute Baseball news.

    

POLO HOME FRIDAY VS. FRESNO PACIFIC

After suffering an predictable defeat at the hands of No. 3 Stanford yesterday afternoon, Coach Brad Kreutzkamp's No. 13 Women's Water Polo team returns to Canyonview Pool to face a less daunting opponent, Fresno Pacific, Friday night….Kreutzkamp & Co., ranked 13th nationally, sport a 17-10 ledger…Following Friday's match-up, the Tritons will be on the road for four in a row;

Junior Jolene Guiliana netted three goals Sunday but it was not nearly enough to derail Stanford as the Cardinal, buoyed by a pair of Olympians and three national team players, rolled, 21-7...Senior Sarah Lizotte and sophomore Julia Kirkland checked in with two goals each...Click here to stay up-to-date on Women's Water Polo.

TRACK & FIELD SQUADS IN ACTION AT AZTEC INVITE SATURDAY
Coaches Tony Salerno and Darcy Ahner take their Track & Field team crosstown Saturday for the annual Aztec Invitational at San Diego State…Fresh off first (women) and second (men) place finishes at the March 15 San Diego Collegiate Challenge, the Tritons will field a full roster of competitors at the Aztec, a meet that figures to have a strong complement of top teams including Pac-12 power Oregon...UCSD will host the hammer portion of the competition Friday morning at 9:00 AM…For complete Track & Field news, click here.

SPIKERS TAKE ON RANKED DUO AT HOME
Coach Kevin Ring's Men's Volleyball team starts a season-ending six-match home stand this week, taking on a pair of Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) rivals,  No. 2 Long Beach State (15-6) Thursday followed by  Cal State Northridge (7-14) two nights later…The last time the Tritons played at RIMAC Arena, they notched their first MPSF victory of 2014, a five-set affair against Cal Baptist…Click here for all of your Men's Volleyball news.

UCSD SABRE STANDOUT 23RD AT NCAA CHAMPIONSHIPS
UCSD's lone 2014 representative, sophomore Travis Tibbitts, went 6-17 to finish 23rd in the sabre competition at last weekend's NCAA Fencing Championships, hosted by Ohio State in Columbus, OH...Tibbitts chalked up victories on foes from Yale, Harvard, Princeton, North Carolina, Ohio State and Notre Dame...Click here for complete Fencing results and info.

NO. 12 MEN'S TENNIS FACES UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO HERE
With just six dual matches left on the schedule, Coach Timmer Willing's Men's Tennis squad eases back into action following winter finals when it hooks up with well-regarded D-III foe University of Chicago Thursday morning…The contest concludes a string of five straight home matches for the No. 12 Tritons who sport a 10-6 record…Keep current on Men's Tennis by clicking here.

WOMEN'S TENNIS TRIES HAND ON ROAD
Trying to shake off the effects of six losses in its last seven outings (all to D-1 or nationally-ranked opponents), Coach Liz LaPlante's Women's Tennis squad hits the highway this week for three road contests…The No. 17 Tritons tackle Sonoma State Friday, Fresno Pacific Saturday and close up this first segment of seven straight away from home Sunday at Cal State Stanislaus…UCSD is 7-10 on the year…Click here for more information on Women's Tennis.

TRITONS LOCK HORNS WITH SDSU IN WOMEN'S CREW FRIDAY
Coach Colin Truex and the Women's Rowing team slide back into competitive mode this week with a dual battle against local adversary San Diego State Friday morning on Mission Bay…It will be the Tritons final prep for the following week's San Diego Crew Classic…For all Women's Crew news, click here.

NEWS & NOTES
This week's edition of Triton Talk, UCSD's weekly online radio show hosted by Craig Elsten, is scheduled to include interviews with NCAA champion swimmer Nick Korth, senior catcher Nick La Face (baseball), sophomore pitcher Alexis Edwards (softball) and Head Coach Timmer Willing from the Men's Tennis team…The show will be posted Wednesday afternoon at ucsdtritons.com.

The Triton Women's Swimming team was recognized with Scholar All-America team status by the Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) last week…The UCSD women, who finished fifth at the recent NCAA Division II Championships posted a cumulative 3.10 GPA during the fall quarter.

Coach Jim Ragan's Golf team is in the midst of a nearly one month competitive hiatus as it prepares for the final stretch of the 2014 season a run that will include the Mustang Invitational (April 7-8) in Goodyear, AZ, the Hanny Stanislaus Invitational (April 14-15) in Turlock, the CCAA Championships (April 21-22) in Stockton and hopefully the NCAA Regional following that…To keep current on Golf, click here.
