LA JOLLA, Calif. - For the fourth consecutive season, UC San Diego men's basketball games will be broadcast by ESPN Radio 1700 AM.
Eight UCSD games will be available on radio as well as online at ESPNRadio1700.com. In addition, all men's and women's home games this season will be covered by a live video stream.
“Our men's basketball partnership with ESPN 1700 AM has been a valuable component for our program," said UCSD Senior Associate Athletics Director Ken Grosse. "We're excited to see it extended into the 2014-15 season and hopefully beyond.”
The eight-game slate begins on Saturday, Nov. 22, with a live broadcast at Cal Poly Pomona. The 7 p.m. contest at Kellogg Gym is the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) opener for both the Tritons and Broncos.
Five games will be broadcast live from RIMAC Arena in La Jolla, including Cal State Stanislaus (Jan. 2, 7:30 p.m.), Sonoma State (Jan. 9, 7:30 p.m.), Cal State East Bay (Jan. 30, 7:30 p.m.), Cal State Dominguez Hills (Feb. 20, 7:30 p.m.) and Cal State L.A. (Feb. 21, 7:30 p.m.).
Two other home tilts will be tape-delayed; Cal Poly Pomona (Dec. 21) and Cal State San Bernardino (Jan. 23). Times of those broadcasts will be published at UCSDtritons.com when available.
Jordan Carruth will handle the play-by-play duties. Select broadcasts will also feature former Triton players doing color commentary.
Also this season, second-year UCSD head coach Eric Olen will have a weekly segment on the Mighty 1090's "Coach" Kentera Show. Olen will join host John Kentera live every Wednesday at approximately 8 p.m., starting on Nov. 26. You can listen to the show on the radio or online.
UCSD opens its regular season on Nov. 19 at non-conference opponent Academy of Art (1 p.m.). The game will be covered by live stats, live video and audio.
