LA JOLLA, Calif. – Former Triton sharpshooter
Tyler McGhie has signed a deal to play professionally on the first team of Gipuzkoa Basket of the Primera FEB League, part of FIBA Europe. The team is based in San Sebastian, Spain.
In two seasons at UC San Diego, McGhie played in 58 games, starting all 35 this past season. As a senior in 2024-25,
Tyler McGhie set a new UC San Diego single season three-point record with 117 makes from beyond the arc helping lead the Tritons to a Big West title and NCAA Tournament berth. He dropped 25 points in UC San Diego's NCAA South Region First Round game against Michigan. The Denton, Texas native was named to the All-Big West First Team. During conference play, McGhie averaged 14.4 points and 2.8 three-pointers per game. His 117 three-point field goal makes ranked fifth nationally. His 3.34 threes per game are tops in The Big West and ninth nationally.
