Don't miss Spirit Night—this Friday against Cal State Dominguez Hills.

TRITON MEN START FOUR-GAME HOME STAND VS. DOMINGUEZ HILLS ON SPIRIT NIGHT
Coach Eric Olen's Men's Basketball team will be looking for a turnaround when it returns to RIMAC Arena this weekend for a CCAA twinbill against Cal State Dominguez Hills (5-12/2-8) Friday and  Cal State L.A. (10-4/7-3) Saturday…After going 0-2 on a road swing to Northern California last weekend, the Tritons are now 7-7 overall, 3-7 in conference action and part of a three-way tie for seventh in the league standings…Cal State L.A.is tied for third and Dominguez Hills is tied for 10th...The top eight teams qualify for the CCAA's post-season tournament.

Senior guard James McCann registered 17 points, six rebounds and two assists at Sonoma State last Friday night but got little support as the host Seawolves, shooting 53.8% from the floor and 62.5% from beyond the arc, blitzed the Tritons, 79-54, curtailing the two-game win streak Olen's club brought in…UCSD was ice cold from long range, hitting just 3-of-24 three point tries…Paced by 15 points from sophomore Drew Dyer, the Tritons had five players score in double figures Saturday but the outcome was no better as San Francisco State, fueled by 49% shooting and a 38-25 edge on the boards, prevailed, 82-68…Nefi Perdomo poured in 29 for SFSU…McCann netted 14 points and had eight assists...For Men's Basketball news, click here.

WOMEN'S HOOPS TRIES TO EXTEND WIN STREAK VS. DOMINGUEZ HILLS, L.A.
The Women's Basketball team starts a four-game home stretch this weekend when Cal State Dominguez Hills (10-4/6-4) and Cal State L.A. (9-5/6-4) visit RIMAC Arena…Fresh off a Northern California sweep, Coach Heidi VanDerveer's cagers sit at 10-4 overall and 7-3 in the CCAA…That puts them in a three-way deadlock for second place in the league standings, just ahead of the two teams coming to town this week.

Megan Pery (18), Erin Dautremont (16) and Miranda Seto (16) combined for 50 points Friday night as UCSD used a second half barrage to bury host Sonoma State, 74-62…Down as much as 17 in the first half and still behind by 10 at intermission, the Tritons shot nearly 53% from the field in the second 20 minutes to catch and pull away from the Seawolves…All of Perry's markers came on treys as she accounted for six of UCSD's 11 in that category…The Tritons out-rebounded Sonoma State, 40-28, led by Dautremont with nine and junior Stephanie Yano dished out a career  high 10 assists….UCSD got its third consecutive victory Saturday, leading for all but two minutes of a 62-54 verdict at San Francisco State…Four players hit for double figures, led by Perry and junior McKennan Bertsch with 15 each…Perry also pulled down a career and game high 13 boards and Dautremont posted her own double double with 12 points and a like number of rebounds…The Tritons had their second straight big night on the glass, turning in a plus-14…Click here to get all your Women's Basketball updates.

Bouncing back from a shoddy first set, UCSD had a road victory in its grasp but couldn't close the door, falling in five at Cal Baptist last Thursday…The Tritons had three match points and two swings for the win in the decisive fifth set before going down, 20-18…Senior lefty Johl Awerkamp had 18 kills, three aces and six digs in the contest while Mathew Schnitzer (13) and Nick Iorfino (12) also reached double digits in the kills column…Senior setter Mike Brunsting handed out 49 assists and had two aces…Back at RIMAC for their home opener, Saturday, the Tritons met a talented, fired up Brigham Young squad and the No. 8 Cougars put on a clinic---hitting .354, blasting 15aces and allowing just 48 points in a 3-0 triumph….Awerkamp topped UCSD with eight kills…Click here to find everything Men's Volleyball.
