LA JOLLA, Calif. - The No. 16 UCSD men's tennis team advanced its win streak to eight matches Wednesday by defeating Western New Mexico, 7-2, at Northview Tennis Courts.

Undefeated at home, the Tritons swept the doubles contests for the second consecutive match and upped their record to 11-1. The Mustangs fell to 4-5.

Austin West and Devon Sousa beat opponents Juan Pablo Fuentes and Johan Weich, 8-4, at No. 1 doubles. Jason Wall and Kona Luu won by the same margin at No. 2, while Sam Ling and Junya Yoshida finished the sweep at No. 3, 8-3.

Chapman Chan and Yoshida captured wins in straight sets at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Chan defeated Weich, 6-1, 6-3, and Yoshida beat Fuentes, 6-3, 6-0. At No. 6 singles, Luu defeated Roy Ulibarri to remain perfect on the season at 9-0.

UCSD will host Hawai'i Pacific on Saturday at 2 p.m.
