Feder Named CCAA Player of the Week

LA JOLLA, Calif. - UC San Diego's Daisy Feder has been named the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Women's Basketball Player of the Week after helping lead the Tritons to a pair of conference wins. The announcement was made Monday by the league.

Feder was instrumental in getting UCSD off to a 2-0 start in CCAA play. She led the team in scoring, field goals made, field goal percentage, three-pointers made and three-point field goal percentage over the two games.

In a convincing 70-49 victory over Cal State L.A. Friday at RIMAC Arena, Feder totaled a game co-high 21 points on 6-for-9 shooting, which included a pair of three-pointers. The senior guard made all seven of her free throw attempts and also added two rebounds, two steals and an assist.

The next night, Feder poured in a team-best 25 points as the Tritons downed Cal State Dominguez Hills, 74-66, in La Jolla. She tied a career-best with nine field goals, five of those coming from behind the three-point arc. The Santa Monica native also had two rebounds, an assist and a steal.

For the week, Feder averaged 23 points per game and shot .600 from the floor, making 15 of her 25 attempts. She hit half of her three-point shots (7-for14) and was perfect from the charity stripe at 9-for-9.

Feder currently leads the CCAA in scoring, averaging 21.1 points per game. Her 88.1 free throw percentage ranks third among league players.

The Tritons, 4-5 overall, play at Cal State San Bernardino on Sunday, Dec. 16 at 3 p.m.
