LA JOLLA, Calif. - Three members of the UC San Diego women's
water polo team earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) 2011
Women's All-Academic Awards, it was announced Monday.
Allie Taylor earned Superior Level honors for
having a GPA between 3.41-3.70, while Natalie Peng and Hanalei Crowell were
listed on the Excellent Level for having GPA's between 3.20-3.40.
It marks the second season in a row in which Crowell earned ACWPC All-Academic
accolades, while Peng and Taylor made the list for the first time in their respective careers.
Crowell was also awarded the Division II Co-Player of the Year by the ACWPC.
The Tritons wrapped up their most successful season in program history in May with its
first Western Water Polo Association title since 2000 and their first trip to the NCAA
Championships. Moreover, UCSD took home seventh place at the Championships with a
handy 15-9 win over No. 20 Iona.
