Brunsting Named AVCA All-America Honorable Mention

LA JOLLA, Calif. - UC San Diego volleyball standout Roxanne Brunsting picked up another postseason honor Monday as she was named AVCA All-America Honorable Mention.

Brunsting, a junior outside hitter/setter, led the Tritons in service aces, was second on the team in kills, points and assists and third in digs. She had six triple-doubles to her credit this season and was seventh in the CCAA in aces and ninth in digs. Brunsting began setting for the first time in her career this season.

The Chula Vista native was an AVCA honorable mention pick as a libero in 2009.

Already this season, Brunsting was named AVCA All-West Region and a Daktronics West Region Volleyball All-Star First Team member. The Daktronics All-Americans will be announced Dec. 1.

UCSD finished its season at 19-9 and advanced to its fifth consecutive CCAA Tournament.
