IRVINE, Calif. ? The 14th-ranked UC San Diego women's water polo team dropped its final two games of the UC Irvine Invitational this weekend. In a rematch of last year's Western Water Polo Association Consolation game, the Tritons could not hold off 19th-ranked Santa Clara, losing in overtime by a 10-9 score. Judy Emaus led UCSD with four scores, while Sarah Bajorek scored twice. At the Tritons Invitational, UCSD defeated Michigan, but this time it was 16th-ranked Michigan coming out on top, 13-8. The game was tied through three quarters, but Michigan outscored UCSD 6-1 in the final quarter. Bajorek led UCSD with four goals.
UCSD is back in action on Friday, March 2 when it hosts WWPA rival No. 7 Loyola Marymount. The game is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m. at Canyonview Pool.
