Women's Water Polo UCSD

No. 14 UCSD Falls to No. 19 Santa Clara and No. 16 Michigan at the UCI Invitational

IRVINE, Calif. ? The 14th-ranked UC San Diego women's water polo team dropped its final two games of the UC Irvine Invitational this weekend.  In a rematch of last year's Western Water Polo Association Consolation game, the Tritons could not hold off 19th-ranked Santa Clara, losing in overtime by a 10-9 score.  Judy Emaus led UCSD with four scores, while Sarah Bajorek scored twice.  At the Tritons Invitational, UCSD defeated Michigan, but this time it was 16th-ranked Michigan coming out on top, 13-8.  The game was tied through three quarters, but Michigan outscored UCSD 6-1 in the final quarter.  Bajorek led UCSD with four goals.

UCSD is back in action on Friday, March 2 when it hosts WWPA rival No. 7 Loyola Marymount.  The game is slated to begin at 4:00 p.m. at Canyonview Pool.
