UC San Diego alumna and United States National Team member Jamie Dailey Hanan was named an assistant coach with the Triton women's water polo program in 2025.

Most recently, Dailey Hanan was the head coach of the Carlsbad High School Girls Water Polo Team, a position she held from 2018 until 2025. Named the CIF Coach of the Year following the 2024-25 season, Dailey Hanan led the Lancers to consistent competitive success while developing high-level athletes and fostering team culture.

Dailey Hanan was an assistant coach with the Mesa Junior College (Arizona) women's water polo team from 1996 to 1997 and led the University of San Diego High School girls program from 1995 to 1997. At USDHS, she launched the school's first CIF girls team.

Dailey Hanan competed on the United States Women's National Team from 1990 until 1995. The team won a Bronze medal at the 1991 World Championships in Australia.

As a multiple-time All-American at UC San Diego between 1989 and 1992, Dailey Hanan helped the Tritons win three national titles (1989, 1991, 1992) and a national runner-up placing (1989). She was a two-year team captain and earned team MVP honors in 1992. A two-time UC San Diego Athlete of the Year, the Tritons went 73-9-2 during her stretch.

Dailey Hanan was inducted into the UC San Diego Athletics Hall of Fame in 2014.
