*2010 NCAA Division II National Championships 'A' Qualifier*
As a Junior in 2008-09: Took home All-American and All-Conference honors while earning a chance to compete at the NCAA Division II National Championships during his junior season... helped the Tritons set four new school records in the 200 and 400 medley relays and the 200 and 800 free relays at the NCAA Championships as UCSD placed fifth in the 400 medley, third in the 200 free and eighth in the 800 free... set a new school record for a 100 freestyle split at the NCAA Championships with a 43.98 mark in the 400 medley relay prelims... finished third in the 100 free and sixth in the 200 free at the PCSC Championships while also helping the Tritons to first in the 200 free and two second-place finishes in the 400 free and 800 free relays.
As a Sophomore in 2007-08: Helped 200 medley relay team to a first-place time of 1:31.81 and 800 free relay team to a second-place finish in 6:50.02 during the PCSC Championships... won the 100 free with a time of 45.41 and finished second in the 50 free at the PCSC Championships with a time of 20.83, receiving All-Conference honors... earned points at the NCAA Championships with a time of 20.65 in the 50 free preliminaries, then improving that finish with a time of 20.61 during the finals, ranking as the third-best mark in school history for the event... helped 200 free relay team to a third-place finish and new UCSD record with a time of 1:21.54, while also serving as part of the 400 free relay's fourth-place time of 3:00.69 and the 400 medley relay team's fifth-place finish in 3:22.00 at the NCAA Championships... also at the NCAA Championships, named an All-American and finished sixth in the 100 free with a season-best time of 44.98.
As a Freshman in 2006-07: Earned All-American honors in his first season with the blue and gold... helped the Tritons to a second-place finish at Nationals in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:22.49... helped the Tritons to a third-place finish in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:00.80.
High School: Attended Carmel High School where the swimming team won the league championship three times... top times included the 100 yard free (46.68), the 200 free (1:51.92), 100 back (1:06.93), 100 fly (1:00.19) and the 200 IM (2:13.55).
Personal: Born Nov. 22, 1988... parents are Rodger and Janet Langland... father graduated from the University of Washington while mother graduated from St. Oalf... has a brother named Blake, who also swims for UCSD... is an Ecology, Behavor and Evolution major and Pscyhology minor at Marshall College... aspires to work with marine biology.
