As a Freshman in 2008-09: Earned All-Conference honors during her freshman season... at the PCSC Championships, finished seventh in the 500 free (5:06.26), ninth in the 1650 free (17:49.75) and 18th in the 200 free (1:56.33)... finished 18th in the 1650 free (17:46.66) and 27th in the 500 free (5:06.10) at the Nike Cup.

High School: Attended El Segundo High School in El Segundo, Calif... helped team to a CIF Championship in 2008 while earning All-American honors... recorded a statistical best of 5:08 in the 500 free.

Personal: Born Aug. 5, 1990... parents are James and Veronica Makuta... has two younger siblings named Ryan and Kira... father was a member of the San Diego State swimming and diving team... an undeclared major in Revelle College... enjoys surfing, swimming and lifeguarding at the beach in her free time... favorite athletes are Michael Phelps and Katie Hoff... favorite pro team is the Los Angeles Lakers.
