*2010 NCAA Division II National Championships 'A' Qualifier*

As a Junior in 2008-09: Received All-American and All-Conference honors after a tremendous junior season... qualified for the NCAA Division II National Championships where he placed 12th in the 200 breast with a time of 2:04.53 in the consolation finals and a personal best of 2:04.22 in the prelims... also at the NCAA Championships, placed 11th in the 100 breast with a 56.32 mark in the consolation finals while recording a personal best of 55.91 in the prelims and helped the Tritons place fifth in the 400 medley relays by recording a school record for a 100 breaststroke split of 54.94... finished fourth in the 100 breast at the PCSC Championships with a time of 58.05 in the finals, after posting a mark of 57.03 in the prelims... also at the PCSC, placed sixth in the 200 breast after a 2:10.34 time in the finals and a 2:07.72 mark in the prelims, while also helping the Tritons to a second-place finish in the 200 medley relay.

At Southwestern College: Attended Southwestern College prior to transferring to UCSD... a member of the swim team under coach Matt Ustaszewski... earned All-American honors... recorded statistical bests of 58 in the 100 breast, 53 in the 100 butterfly, and 2:11 in the 200 breast.

High School: Attended Montgomery High School in San Diego, Calif... a two-time CIF swimmer... achieved statistical bests of 1:03 in the 100 breast and 54.0 in the 100 butterfly while in high school.

Personal: Born Jan. 12, 1987... parents Jesus and Mariaelena Carrillo... has two siblings named Jesus and Mariaelena... father ran track while at UC Santa Barbara... a Studio Art major in Sixth College... aspires to become an artist... hobbies include landscaping and cooking Mexican cuisine.
