AS A JUNIOR IN 2009-10: Competed at the 2010 NCAA Division II National Championships in Canton, Ohio... At the D-II championships, he placed 15th in the 1650 free with a time of 15:59.36, a personal best... Also in Ohio, he helped the Tritons' 800 free relay team to a ninth-place finish after a group mark of 6:46.21 and an individual split of 1:41.45... His top individual finish while in Canton came in the 1000 free, where he took 12th after crossing the line in 9:24.77... Earned All-Pacific Collegiate Swimming Conference honors after putting together strong performances at the league championships, including taking first in the 500 free (4:32.74) and placing third in the 1650 free (16:07.91)... Named the Tritons' "Most Improved" swimmer on the men's side.

VENTURA COLLEGE: Under head coach Larry Barret, helped the Ventura College men's swimming and diving squad to its fifth and sixth consecutive Western State Conference Championships during his two years there while earning All-American honrs... In both seasons, team finished as runners-up at the California State Championships... At the state championships in 2009, Baier finished fifth in the 500 free (4:40.05), fifth in the 1650 free (16:17.84) and eigth in the 200 free (1:43.87).

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2007 graduate of Granada Hills High School in Granada Hills, Calif... Helped team qualify for the National Championships during his senior year... Also participated as a CCAT swimmer for 10 years.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 12, 1989... Parents are Billy and Sondra Baier... Has an older brother named William who competed at the NCAA Division II National Championships for Cal State Bakersfield... Is a Political Science major and History minor at Warren College... Favorite sports team is the Los Angeles Lakers... Favorite athlete is Michael Phelps.
