As a Junior in 2008-09: Earned All-Conference accolades following a stellar junior year... recorded a personal best of 1:56.23 in the prelims of the PCSC Championships en route to finishing seventh in the 200 IM... also placed seventh in the 100 breast while at the PCSC and ninth in the 200 breast, posting respective times of 58.63 and 2:10.29 for personal bests... placed 19th in the 200 breast at the Nike Cup with a time of 2:11.68.

As a Sophomore in 2007-08: Posted season-best times in the 50 free, 100 breast, and 200 IM during the Nike Cup with times of 22.09, 59.62, and 1:57.49, respectively... finished 6th in the 200 breast at the PCSC Championships with a time of 2:12.65, earning All-Conference honors.

As a Freshman in 2006-07: Earned All-Conference honors at the PCSC Championships... in the 100 breast at the PCSC's, Islip finished eighth with a time of 59.29 in the championship heat.

High School: Attended Plano Senior High School where he finished sixth in the 200 medley relay at state, 30th in the nation in the 200 medley and the team finished 11th overall at state.

Personal: Born Nov. 27, 1987... parents are Philip and Donna Islip... both are University of Michigan graduates... has an older brother named Peter... enjoys volleyball, soccer, football and movies in his spare time... is a Bioengineering major at Warren College... favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys and favorite athlete is Marion Barber... aspires to be a surgeon or engineer.
