Alessandro Valania enters his fifth season as an assistant coach in 2024 after joining the staff in September of 2020.
He previously served as a manager for the Tritons during the 2019 season.
Valania played for the Tritons from 2017-18. He helped lead the Tritons to an appearance in the 2018 NCAA Championship semi-finals. Valania finished fourth on the team in points during his senior season. Prior to arriving in La Jolla, Valania played for Golden West College from 2015-16. During the 2016 season, he helped Golden West win a California Community College Athletic Association State Championship.
Valania graduated from UC San Diego in 2020 with a degree in Psychology.
