CLUB: Played 15s with Balboa Bay and 17s and 18s with The LBC… Won a Junior Olympics bronze medal with the 17s and placed fifth with the 18s.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2010 graduate of Mater Dei in Santa Ana, Calif.… Competed in the CIF Finals as a senior… Played four years of varsity volleyball… Earned second team all-league honors his senior season.

PERSONAL: Born Sept. 29, 1990… Parents are William and Mary Zant… Mother played volleyball at Arizona State, father was a rower at UC Santa Barbara… Has two brothers, Robbie and Grady… An international studies major in Revelle College… Atletico Madrid is his favorite team to follow… Admires Uruguayan footballer Diego Forlan… Hobbies include disc golf, music and reading.
