Marco Meoni was named an assistant coach with the UC San Diego Men's Volleyball Team in February of 2025.
Meoni brings over 30 years of combined experience as a player, coach, and consultant to La Jolla.
A former setter for the Italian National Team, he has competed at the highest levels including the Olympics, World Championships, and European Championships.
Italy's setter for 273 matches, he competed in three Olympics, winning silver in 1996 and bronze in 2000. In 1998, he won gold at the World Championships. In addition, Meoni helped his squad win gold at the 2003 European Championships.
Meoni was tabbed the Best Setter in the 2003 World League and Champions League.
For the past six years, Meoni has coached at the boys and girls club level.
In addition, he was recently added to the National Team Development Program (NTDP) for USA Volleyball.
Meoni is the founder and owner of a training and consulting business that offers expert coaching, player development programs, and online consultancy for athletes at all levels.
