AS A JUNIOR AT UC SAN DIEGO: Finished his junior year with 24 goals and 30 assists... named to the ACWP D-II All-American team... the 30 assists led the team... scored two goals in UCSD’s fifth-place game win over Redlands at the Western Water Polo Association Championships.

WEST VALLEY COLLEGE: A member of the West Valley College team for two seasons... was captain of the team as WVC finished second in the state in 2006... earned MVP of the conference, Northern California and member of the All-State team in 2006.

HIGH SCHOOL: A three-time MVP for the water polo team at Pioneer HS... named the 2003 MVP of the conference.

PERSONAL: Born June 27, 1987... parents are Henry Ortiz and Kristen Alessi... has two older step-brothers named Kalon and Nolan... a Psychology major in Revelle College... career goals include becoming a Psychiatrist and coaching water polo.
