AS A JUNIOR IN 2009: Saw action in three matches and five sets... In a three-set sweep against Grand Canyon (4/18), Johnson had three aces, five digs, a block and 5.0 points... Also played against Cal State Northridge (4/10) and UC Santa Barbara (4/11).

IRVINE VALLEY COLLEGE: Played two years at Irvine Valley and won the 2007 and 2008 California Junior College State Championships... Named the 2007 and 2008 Pacific Coast Conference MVP and the 2008 California Junior College State MVP… Team posted a two-year record of 35-5 while he was there... In 2008, hit at a .608 clip in the state tournament and .408 for the season.

CLUB: Played for Balboa Bay from 2003-06… Won a silver medal at the 2006 Junior Olympics… Named to all-tournament squad at 2006 JOs.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Foothill... A two-time First Team All-Sea View League selection… Led the team in kills, digs, aces and blocks during his senior year.

PERSONAL: Born Aug. 11, 1988... Parents are David and Marla Johnson... Father is a Cal State Fullerton graduate while mother graduated from UC Irvine... Has a younger sibling named Eric... Uncles Steve and Dan Verbolovich played college and professional beach volleyball... A communication major in Sixth College... Michael Jordan is his favorite athlete and Super Troopers is his top pick on the big screen… Hobbies include golf, movies and friends.
