LA JOLLA, Calif. — UC San Diego women's soccer goalkeeper Charlotte Wilfert has been named Big West Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced today. The honor comes after Wilfert delivered a record-setting performance in the Tritons' first two conference matches of the season.
Wilfert played all 90 minutes in both of UC San Diego's Big West contests, helping the Tritons open conference play with a shutout victory over CSUN before making 15 saves in a 2-2 draw against Utah Valley.
The Thousand Oaks, California, native made 15 saves against Utah Valley, breaking UC San Diego's 35-year-old school record for most saves in a single match. Her 15 saves also mark the most by a Big West goalkeeper in a single match since 2024.
Wilfert finished the week with a .895 save percentage and currently ranks second in the Big West in goals-against average and total saves. She also ranks third in the conference in shutouts per game and saves per game.
The recognition marks Wilfert's second career Big West Defensive Player of the Week honor. She previously earned the award on Oct. 31, 2025.
