COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The UC San Diego men's golf team finished 14th and sophomore
Ethan Lien placed 21st as the 57th Falcon Invitational concluded Monday.
The United States Air Force Academy hosted the 18-team tournament at Eisenhower Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Tritons were 16-over par on the par 72, 7541 yard layout on Eisenhower's Blue Course. They shot rounds of 9-over, 2-over and 5-over.
The University of Colorado ran away with the team title, finishing 30-under par. The Buffaloes nearest competitors were Texas El Paso and Denver, coming in tied for second at 15-under.
Brody Leid from the University of Wyoming was the individual medal winner, coming in at 9-under par. Arthur Akpinar from Denver was one stroke back in second place. Three other players tied for third at 7-under.
The Falcon Invitational is a two-part event. In addition to the team competition, an individual tournament is played on Eisenhower's Silver Course. UC San Diego freshman
Branden Wong made his collegiate debut, coming in 26th.

Following a two-week hiatus, UC San Diego returns to the course Oct. 12-14 at the Visit Stockton Invitational. Pacific is hosting the tournament at Stockton Golg & Country Club.
