COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - The UC San Diego men's golf team sits in 14th place following Saturday's opening round of the 57th Gene Miranda Falcon Invitational.
The United States Air Force Academy is hosting the 18-team tournament through Monday at Eisenhower Golf Club in Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Tritons are 9-over par after 18 holes. Sophomore
Ethan Lien fired a 2-under 70 and is sitting in 10th place heading into Sunday's second round.Â
Colorado and Utah Valley are currently leading the field at 8-under par. Six players are tied for the lead at 4-under.
The Falcon Invitational is a two-part event with the team competition being played on the Blue Course and the individual event on the Silver Course.

Branden Wong is making his collegiate debut, representing UC San Diego in the individual tourney.
