LA JOLLA, Calif. — UC San Diego's Triton Invitational water polo tournaments will feature expanded coverage this season as the Big West announced an agreement with Overnght, a live streaming and digital content platform focused on Olympic and emerging sports, to provide broadcasts of the 2026 men's event and the 2027 women's event.
The agreement will place every match from both tournaments on the Overnght platform, connecting two early-season showcases featuring some of the nation's top programs directly with water polo fans across the country.
The 14-team men's Triton Invitational will take place Aug. 28-30, 2026, at UC San Diego's Canyonview Aquatic Center. Every match will stream live on Overnght and will be available on demand following the event. The link to the 2026 tournament page can be found here.
The Big West will be well represented in the field, with host UC San Diego joined by Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara in three days of high-level competition.
"The Big West is proud to partner with Overnght to showcase two outstanding tournaments on a platform designed to connect with fans of water polo and Olympic sports," Big West Commissioner Dan Butterly said. "Our water polo programs consistently compete among the nation's best, and this partnership allows us to meet the sport's passionate fans where they are while elevating our student-athletes, programs and water polo nationally."
The partnership continues with the 2027 women's Triton Invitational, slated for mid-January at Canyonview Aquatic Center. All matches will be streamed live on Overnght and available on demand following the tournament.
UC San Diego will be a part of a strong early-season test featuring some of the nation's premier women's water polo programs.
"Overnght was built for exactly this," said Kevin McReynolds, Overnght Founder and CEO. "These are elite athletes competing at an incredibly high level, and they deserve a platform that presents their sport in that way. We're excited to work with The Big West and UC San Diego to bring fans closer to these tournaments and continue our mission to 'Make Every Sport Feel Major.'"
