MISSOULA, Mont. — UC San Diego moves to 5-5 on the season after a 6-1 loss to Montana on Monday at the Peak Racquet Club. UC San Diego secured its sole point with a singles victory at the No. 4 position.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Montana secured the doubles point with victories on No. 2 and 3. A 6-1 Montana win over
Andrew Beceiro and
Oliver Worth at No. 2 doubles followed with a decisive 6-0 victory over
Prathinav Chunduru and
David Adamson at No. 3 doubles. The match on court one between
Abhinav Chunduru and
Trevor Nguyen was unfinished with a score of 4-3 in favor of Montana.

In singles, Montana continued its strong performance, earning their next point at No. 3 where Adamson fell 1-6, 0-6. Another point for Montana was added by a ranked opponent with a 6-0, 6-3 victory over P. Chunduru at No. 1. The match was clinched in favor of the Griz at No. 2 where A. Chunduru was downed 6-3, 6-1.

UC San Diego's sole singles point came from
Trevor Nguyen, who claimed a 6-4, 6-3 victory over Johnny Wilkinson at No. 4 singles. This victory marks Nguyen's third consecutive singles win. Montana continued to grow their advantage over the Tritons with a 6-3, 6-2 win against Beceiro at No. 5. Completing the singles matches was a tight 7-6(7), 6-3 victory over
Trey Fourticq at No. 6.

UP NEXT
The Tritons will go back on the road for a weekend in Arizona Feb. 21-22. The first two matches will be played on Saturday at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. in a doubleheader against Arizona. The last match will be played Sunday at 11 a.m. against Grand Canyon.
