LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego senior,
Asia Kozan, was honored with a second MPSF Swimmer of the Week award, as annouced by the conference Wednesday. Kozan's recognition comes after a successful dual meet performance against UC Davis Saturday.
During the meet Kozan captured two event titles, as well as a second-place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. Kozan swam the anchor leg, a split of 22.66. In the 200 freestyle, the senior finished five seconds ahead of the field to secure the win (1:45.63). Her second win came in the 400 IM, where she outpaced her nearest competition by over nine seconds, recording an NCAA-qualifying time of 4:12.44.
The Tritons returned to the MPSF for the 2026-27 season, having last competed in the conference from 2018-24. Upon completion of the 2024 conference championship Kozan was honored with Freshman Swimmer of the Year honors for the culmination of her success during the season and at the championship.
