LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego and 97.3 The Fan (KWFN-FM), an Audacy station in San Diego, have expanded their agreement to cover Triton basketball. The multi-year extension to the existing agreement maintains 97.3 The Fan as the exclusive over-the-air home of UC San Diego basketball, with all broadcasts streaming via the free Audacy app. The announcement was made live on
The Braden Surprenant Show Thursday morning.
Listeners can tune in to 97.3 The Fan (KWFN-FM) in San Diego on-air and nationwide on the
Audacy app and
website. Fans can also connect with the station via
X,
Facebook and
Instagram. For the first time, 97.3 The Fan will broadcast every men's basketball game – home and away. Coverage will include an expanded pre-game and postgame show. As part of the extension, select Triton women's basketball games will continue to be broadcast live each season.
Play-by-play veterans Steve Quis and Ted Mendenhall will once again call the action, with Braden Surprenant and Sam Levitt anchoring pregame, halftime, and postgame coverage.
The first UC San Diego basketball broadcast of the new season on 97.3 The Fan will air Monday when the UC San Diego men's team opens its season vs. Whittier. Pregame coverage gets underway at 6:32 p.m. PST with tip-off scheduled for just after 7 p.m. PST from LionTree Arena in La Jolla.
