LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego women's volleyball's Molly McCluskey was named Big West Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Tritons in a 1-1 weekend against UC Irvine. The junior opposite averaged 5.28 points per set, leading the conference with 47.5 total points.
 
It is the first Big West weekly honor for McCluskey this season and her fifth all-time weekly conference award. It is the fourth Big West weekly award for the Tritons this season and 25th award for UC San Diego since joining the Big West in 2021.
 
McCluskey averaged 4.67 kills with a .267 hitting percentage, recording 42 kills on 105 swings with 14 errors. She also added 25 digs (2.78 per set) with back-to-back double-doubles. McCluskey also finished the week with seven blocks and two service aces.
 
On Friday, McCluskey tallied 18 kills, 14 digs and four blocks for 21.0 points in a five-set loss to the Anteaters. On Saturday, she recorded a season-best 24 kills and 26.5 points, adding 11 digs and three blocks in a four-set road victory at Irvine.
 
McCluskey currently ranks second in the Big West in total points (369.5) and total kills (310). She ranks fifth in points per set (4.30), sixth in kills per set (3.60), 10th in total aces (25), 11th in total digs (206), 12th in total blocks (64) and 15th in hitting percentage (.272).
 
Nationally, McCluskey ranks 27th in the NCAA in total points and 49th in total kills.
 
The Tritons are tied for fourth in the Big West with a 6-4 record and will host the other fourth-place team UC Santa Barbara on Friday at 6 p.m. UC San Diego will also host Big West-leader Cal Poly on Saturday at 5 p.m.
