LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego Athletics today announced the launch of Tritons Rise, a $2 million matching initiative designed to strengthen the university's ability to recruit and retain top scholar-athletes. This initiative will provide matched philanthropic support for scholar-athlete financial assistance, including Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL).

All new gifts or commitments to the Triton Champions Fund will be matched 1:1, doubling your impact and the resources available to our programs. Individuals are able to support this initiative with a gift to the general Triton Champions Fund or direct to a sport of their choice.

"Tritons Rise is an investment in the future of UC San Diego Athletics. This matching initiative gives us the ability to recruit and retain exceptional scholar-athletes while providing the resources they need to thrive in today's Division I environment. With the support of Chancellor Khosla and our donors, this match will serve as a catalyst to help elevate UC San Diego into the top tier of top non-football Division I institutions," said UC San Diego Director of Athletics Andy Fee.

Tritons Rise directly impacts nearly 600 scholar-athletes, enhancing each program's ability to compete for top recruits and retain those who excel on and off the field.
