Matt Wittig joined the UC San Diego Athletics Department in October 2023 as Senior Associate Athletic Director for Development.

After earning a Bachelor of Business in Management degree in 2010 and Master of Science in Sport Management in 2012 from Western Illinois University, he served as a Development Assistant for the Golden Hurricane Club at the University of Tulsa.

In 2013, he became Director of Development for Annual Giving at Towson University before moving to the West Coast to accept a position as Assistant Director of Annual Giving at Stanford University. He was promoted to Assistant Athletics Director for Development at Stanford before joining San Diego State as Associate Athletic Director for Philanthropy from 2021-03.
