Alisa Lansky won her first collegiate match with a three-set win on court four, but the Toreros were victorious on five singles courts to earn the home win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego got off to a great start by taking the doubles point. After host USD won 6-3 at No. 3, the Triton tandem of
Olivia Allegre and
Julia Visaya rallied for a 6-4 win at first doubles. All eyes turned to court two, where UC San Diego's
Alisa Lansky and
Allison Lian were able to rally for a 7-5 win – giving the Tritons a 1-0 lead in the match.
In singles, USD won five straight (all in straight sets) to take the match victory. On court four, Lansky continued to battle. She won her first set, 6-3, but dropped the second, 7-5. She took the decisive third set, 10-8 in a super tiebreak to give UC San Diego an opening day singles win.
