Tritons Run Unbeaten Streak to Four with Draw at Pacific

STOCKTON, Calif. – UC San Diego ran its unbeaten streak to four consecutive matches thanks to a scoreless draw Monday morning at Pacific. Triton goalkeeper Charlotte Wilfert posted her third clean sheet of the season – and second in a row – thanks to a four-save effort.

The Tritons are now 1-1-3 on the season, while Pacific's record stands at 1-3-2 following the stalemate.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC San Diego's lone credited shot during the first half came in the 44th minute, when Andrea Guillen fired a shot on frame, but Pacific goalkeeper Lis van Herwijnen lunged to her right and made the stop. Earlier in the half, the Tigers found the back of the net, but that goal was quickly waved off as a Tiger committed a foul on a Triton defender.

Pacific held a 6-1 shots advantage in the first half, though only one Tiger attempt was on frame.

Immediately after halftime, the Tigers had a good look from Sarah McCallum, but Wilfert made her second save of the match. UC San Diego earned its first corner kick in the 55th minute. Natalie Abel played the ball into Chloe Yates at the top of the 18, but her shot was blocked. The Tritons had another opportunity on a corner in the 64th minute, but the shot from Talisa Lin was saved.

The Tigers had a great look in the 86th minute off a corner but were unable convert. Less than two minutes later, a UOP shot hit the crossbar. The Tigers earned a corner in the final 30 seconds of the match but could not get a strong shot attempt, clinching the scoreless draw.
