LA JOLLA, Calif. – UC San Diego women's soccer will kick off its fifth Division I season on Thursday when the Tritons host Cal at Triton Soccer Stadium (7 p.m.). UC San Diego is in search of its first program victory over the Golden Bears.
Admission to all home matches is free, though parking permits are required seven days per week on the UC San Diego campus. The game will also air live on ESPN+ with Steve Quis and Natasha Belak-Berger back to call the home action in 2025.

UC San Diego took a first half lead but a pair of second half goals propelled host California to a 2-1 victory over the Tritons in women's soccer action at Edwards Stadium in the season opener for both sides. UC San Diego captain
Courtney Hilliard scored the lone Triton goal in the 34th minute. Karlie Lema scored twice in the second half for the Golden Bears in the win.

UC San Diego women's soccer head coach
Kristin Jones '04 has announced the addition of ten newcomers who will join the Tritons' roster for the 2025 season: four transfers and six first-year scholar-athletes.

Nadira Haddach (Washington),
Charlotte Wilfert (Penn), and
Chloe Lee Yates (Boise State) will transfer to UC San Diego. First-year Tritons include

FIVE TRITONS CAPTURE BIG WEST HONORS IN 2024
Five UC San Diego scholar-athletes have been honored by The Big West as the conference announced its women's soccer postseason awards. Graduate students
Skylar Enge and
Kailey Park, seniors
Camryn Borg and
Courtney Hilliard, and redshirt freshman
Leilah Raad were all named Honorable Mention All-Big West. In addition, Raad was selected to The Big West All-Freshman Team.
The postseason recognition is the first for all five Tritons, and the five Triton honorees are the most for UC San Diego in the program's four seasons competing in The Big West. The annual awards are voted on by the conference's 11 head coaches.
HEAD COACH KRISTIN JONES '04
One of the most decorated players to come through the renowned UC San Diego women's soccer program, Kristin Jones is in her seventh season as the program's head coach. The former Triton standout became assistant with the program in 2004 and was elevated to associate head coach in 2015. Her career head coaching record stands at 51-44-20 (.530) over six seasons.

WHY THE TRITONS?
The Triton is described as the offspring of Poseidon and Amphitrite, a demigod of the sea with a lower part of the body like that of a fish. It is known as a mighty and fierce sea warrior. Given UC San Diego's close proximity to the Pacific Ocean and its connections with the world-famous Scripps Institution of Oceanography, the Triton became our mascot in 1964.
