SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – 44th-ranked UC Santa Barbara proved too much for UC San Diego, as the Gauchos downed the Tritons by a 7-0 score Sunday morning at Arnhold Tennis Center on the UCSB campus. The Gauchos remained unbeaten in Big West action (now 6-0) while also staying perfect against UC San Diego all-time since the Tritons moved to Division I in 2020-21.

HOW IT HAPPENED
UC Santa Barbara earned the doubles point thanks to 6-1 wins on courts two and three. The Tritons duo of
Julia Haynes and
Kelly Leung were up 3-2 at top doubles when the Gauchos clinched the point, and doubles play was abandoned.

UC Santa Barbara rode that momentum into singles play, with the Gauchos winning on all six courts. At fifth singles, Triton senior
Adriana Tabares fell in the first set, 6-3. However, Tabares rebounded to take the second set, 7-6 (7-3). With the other five courts decided, Tabares and UCSB's Emma Tutovenau played a super tiebreaker, with the Gauchos earning a 10-4 win.
