Tritons Take Doubleheader in Davis

DAVIS, Calif. – The University of California San Diego (10-24) completed a successful doubleheader against UC Davis (12-28) on Friday, starting with a 4-1 victory followed by a commanding 9-1 win in five innings at La Rue Field.
 
The Tritons' overall record improved to 10-24, with a Big West Conference record of 8-9. UC Davis now holds an overall record of 12-28, with a conference record of 6 -11.

In the first game, India Caldwell delivered a complete game for the Tritons, pitching seven innings with one earned run on five hits and four strikeouts, while using 125 pitches.
 
Lily Hermosillo contributed offensively with two RBIs on one hit, including a double. Ryanna Alano also stood out, recording two hits, one RBI, and one stolen base while scoring a run. Haley Garcia added to the offense with two hits, one RBI, and one stolen base, demonstrating strong performance at the plate.

In the second game, UC San Diego showcased a consistent offensive performance, scoring in each of the first five innings. Morgan Eng stood out, scoring two runs and stealing a base in her leadoff role. Alexa DeMarse contributed significantly with a hit, a run, and an RBI, alongside two assists in the field. Zara Wasserman excelled offensively, hitting a home run and recording two hits with an RBI.
 
In the circle, Callie Christian delivered her first collegiate complete game performance, allowing just two hits and one earned run over five innings.
