LA JOLLA, Calif. – Second year Triton and Big West Player of the Year
Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones will participate in the NABC-Reese's Division I College All-Star Game Friday afternoon at the NCAA Men's Final Four in San Antonio. The game will take place inside Alamodome at 3:30 p.m. CDT (1:30 p.m. PT) and will be televised live on CBS Sports Network.
Aniwaniwa Tait-Jones captured Big West Player of the Year honors – the first Triton to win this award. In his second season at UC San Diego, Tait-Jones ranked third in the conference in scoring at 19.1 points per game. The New Zealand native was remarkably efficient, connecting on 57.6% of his shot attempts while setting a UC San Diego Division I single season record with 670 points scored. He leads the nation in free throw attempts (297). Tait-Jones was also named to the All-Big West First Team and was last year's conference Newcomer of the Year.
