UC San Diego fell to Cal State Bakersfield, 10-3, on Saturday afternoon

LA JOLLA, Calif.—UC San Diego baseball fell to Cal State Bakersfield, 10-3, in game two on Saturday afternoon in Triton Ballpark. The Tritons (9-6, 1-1 Big West) are now 1-1 in the weekend series with the Roadrunners (5-10, 1-1 Big West).
 
J.C. Allen and Patrick Hackworth both hit home runs in the contest, with Allen finishing 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run scored and Hackworth going 2-for-3 with an RBI, run scored and a walk. On the mound, Spencer Seid (2-1) provided a solid outing with 5.1 innings pitched, allowing two earned runs and striking out eight batters. In the field, Hackworth also excelled defensively, recording four assists and participating in one double play.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Tritons began the game with a strong defensive performance, allowing no hits and stranding one runner from the Roadrunners in the first inning. This was followed by the Tritons' Alex Leopard hitting a double down the right field line in the bottom of the inning, though the team did not manage to score.
